Practice: Unconscious Infant Choking
Conscious choking baby just went unconscious. You in the plaid shirt, go call 911 and come back. Bring an AED if you find one. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 and 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. Two breaths went in. Check a pulse. Pulse is present, no breathing, continue rescue breathing. One breath every three seconds. Two minutes has gone by, I recheck for a pulse. There is no pulse, there is no breathing. Go into CPR. 30 compressions followed by two rescue breaths. I'm going to continue this until help arrives, an AED arrives or the baby revives.
