Practice: Adult AED
CPR is in progress. The scene is safe to use an AED, and an AED is available. I'm going to go ahead and turn it on. AED: Remove clothing from person's chest. Speaker 1: I would cut away or take off the clothing, bare the chest and wipe them dry if they're damp. AED: [overlapping]: --Attach pads firmly to person's chest as shown. Speaker 1: Take out the pads. Apply them as shown. AED: Plug in connector. Check connector and pads. Analyzing rhythm. Everyone stand clear. Speaker 1: Not touching the patient. AED: Shock advised. Charging. Everyone stand clear. [tone] Everyone stand clear. Push the shock button. Shock delivered. Begin 5 cycles of CPR. Speaker 1: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10... 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. [rescue breaths] 1, 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8, 9, 10, 11, 12-- AED [overlapping]: --1 minute and 30 seconds of CPR remain. Speaker 1: --14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. [rescue breaths] 1, 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6 and 7 and 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. AED [overlapping]: --1 minute of CPR remains.
